David Cameron is a hand-loom weaver based in Avonbridge near Falkirk in Central Scotland, with multiple awards to his name.

The collection of hand-woven shawls is made from soft British lambswool with a classic honeycomb weave. They create a cosy warmth when it’s needed, and ideal for staying out when the sunset is too good to miss.
Made to last and stay with the family for years., these striking Sunset Shawls have a unique look and feel - soft and light, warm and tactile.
Design:
The vibrant colours and proportions in these weavings echo Bernat Klein's palette-knife paintings and the rectangular panels of his modernist home at High Sunderland. Further inspiration comes from examining his 'Diolen' printed fabrics, where darker outlines are often used between blocks of strong colour.
Colour:
Bernat Klein chose the 'Barding textile colour atlas' to catalogue his huge personal collection of colour samples and I have used the same scheme to select colours for each piece giving the collection a balanced overall theme. Narrow dark-grey stripes visually separate the body and feature blocks, while the light-grey warp helps to bring the colours together.
Weave:
These pieces use a new range of sustainable 100% British lambswool, dyed and spun in Yorkshire from UK-farmed, Blue Faced Leicester Sheep fleece. All woven by hand in Avonbridge, Scotland on the AVL loom. The main weave-structure is 16-shaft honeycomb with a deeper mid-section that adds loft, comfort and warmth to the shawls. Edges are woven in an interleaved twill with fringes stitched by hand, and then each piece is individually hand-washed and finished.

Masterclasses with the Weavers’ Guild and inspiring Summer Schools at Heriot-Watt School of Textiles & Design in Galashiels have developed the skills and confidence to work with increasingly complex looms.”
